This comes on a day when the Congress floor leader in the Lok Sabha, Chowdhury, asked for an immediate discussion on the communal riots in northeast Delhi in Parliament which has claimed 47 lives to date.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the lower house and said the discussion on Delhi riots will be held after Holi. Chowdhury said the matter is very serious and should be given top priority.

“Government says we leave it on the Speaker, the Speaker says debate will happen after things will be normal. Now coming under pressure, they are saying it will be discussed after Holi,” Chowdhury said in the Lok Sabha.

“Holi with blood is being played and you are talking about Holi. They are running away from debate and are scared of debate,” he said.
