PM Modi to meet 10 chief ministers to take stock of COVID situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take stock of the COVID crisis in the country in a meeting with the chief ministers of 10 states on Tuesday (August 11).

He will chair a virtual meeting with the chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Bihar, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and West Bengal to review the situation after ‘Unlock 3’ came into force in July, NDTV reported.

This follows a similar interaction he had with the chief ministers of Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala to review the flood situation on Monday.

The most number of COVID cases have been reported in Maharashtra, followed by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The most number of deaths on Monday were reported from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, NDTV reported.

This will be the PM’s seventh COVID-related interaction with chief ministers since the pandemic began in March. His last such meeting was in June.

Over 22 lakh coronavirus cases have been recorded in India till Monday.
