On Thursday, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) said it submitted a memorandum to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya demanding the postponement of NEET PG 2022.
National General Secretary of ABVP, Nidhi Tripathi said, “The future of thousands of students is at stake due to the conflict between the counselling process of NEET PG 2021 and the date of NEET PG 2022 examination and not getting enough time for preparation.”
“ABVP has discussed the issues of NEET PG 2022 with the Union Health Minister and a positive discussion has taken place. We hope that keeping in mind the interest of the students, this matter will be resolved as soon as possible,” Tripathi added.

In the Supreme Court, a bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant said postponement of the examination would create “chaos and uncertainty” and would affect the larger section of students, who have registered for the examination.
“There are two categories of students — one which is seeking postponement and the larger category of over two lakh six thousand candidates — who would be affected by the postponement after having prepared for the examination”, the bench said.
It noted that the government is trying to bring back the schedule of examination on time as it was affected due to the pandemic.
“As the country gets back on the rails, which was derailed due to the pandemic, the time schedule laid down by this court must be adhered to”, it said.
On May 10, the top court had agreed to hear the plea of doctors seeking postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2022 which is scheduled to be held on May 21 on grounds that it will clash with the ongoing counselling for NEET-PG 2021.
Here are some of the reactions from Twitter.
Our immediate course of action should be to not turn up for the exam. Not a single seat in any exam centre should be occupied by any #NEETPG2022 aspirant. Unfortunately lack of unity & personal, political & religious bias among the aspirants themselves will never make this happen

So Supreme court worries about the patients and decreased care they get but who is to worry about the doctors who treat them? Perhaps WHO is right: “India stands No:1 in the countries where doctors are disrespected and Violated” #NEETPG2022 #POSTPONENEETPGBY10WEEKS

#NEETPG2022 #POSTPONENEETPG_MODIJI@drasmalhi @PMOIndia The Nexus between private colleges selling PG seats and NMC appears to be at the root of this denial. What states objected to the postponement and what were their reasons,HM needs to clarify
