Centre to handover 67-acre land acquired in Ayodhya to Ram Temple trust

The Centre will hand over the 67-acre land acquired in Ayodhya to the newly formed Ram Temple trust, to oversee the construction of Ram temple, announce Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (February 16).

After the land was acquired by the Central government, SC had ordered the land to be in their possession until the resolution of the dispute.

“Government has taken another big decision related to the Ram Temple (in Ayodhya). The 67-acre land acquired under the Ayodhya law will be transferred in its entirety to the newly formed Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The grandeur and divinity of the Temple built on this big piece of land will increase,” Prime Minister said.

The PM also asserted that the trust set up for construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya will work “rapidly”.

“A trust has been formed for the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. This trust will work rapidly,” he said at a public meeting during his day-long visit to his Lok Sabha constituency.

The government had recently set up the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra on the Supreme Court’s directive to the Union government to form a trust that can look into the construction and management of the temple.
