Akshay Kumar named in Forbes list of World's Highest Paid entertainers-2019

Forbes has released the World’s Highest-Paid entertainers list for 2019. The only Indian celebrity to make it to the list is Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Akshay who is on the 33rd spot on the list, with an income of $65 million (as of last year), has pushed celebrities like Rihanna, Jackie Chan and Bradley Cooper behind. Taylor Swift at the age of 29, topped the list with an earning of $185 million. It is the second time the young singer topped the list after 2016.

Swift is followed by reality show star Kylie Jenner (21) in the second position and Kanye West, Lionel Messi and Ed Sheeran in the third spot. Swift and Jenner are the only women to make it to the top 10.

Of the 100 celebrities that made it to the list, only 16 are women, including JK Rowling at the 13th spot and Ellen DeGeneres at the 22nd spot. According to reports, there was a tie between couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z for the 20th spot.

However, actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan failed to find a spot on the list, though they were in the previous ones. According to Forbes magazine, Akshay Kumar has emerged as the seventh highest-paid actor in the world by earning $40.5 million in 2018. He is currently gearing up for the release of Mission Mangal.
