Rajinikanth makes surprise visit to Ilaiyaraaja's new music studio

Superstar Rajinikanth paid a visit to Ilaiyaraaja’s new music studio in Kodambakkam, Chennai, on Tuesday (February 16). He also visited the music composer’s residence.

Photos of the actor’s surprise visit to Ilaiyaraaja’s studio went viral on social media. This is Rajinikanth’s first public appearance after returning from shooting for ‘Annaatthe’, which was happening in Hyderabad but had to be stopped after a few crew members tested positive for COVID-19.

In January, Ilaiyaraaja unveiled his new music studio after vacating his earlier one, located in Prasad Studios, in Chennai, where he composed thousands of songs for close to four decades, as the owners leased out the property to an IT company. The music composer converted a private theatre into a new studio.

It was recently announced that Ilaiyaraaja would be composing music for Vetrimaaran’s next, which according to reports will be based on Jeyamohan’s short story titled Thunaivan, starring Soori in the lead, Bhavani Sre, and Vijay Sethupathi in a cameo.

Ilaiyaraaja is also composing for actor Vijay Antony’s next film titled Thamilselvan.

Ilaiyaraaja has to his credit over 1,000 albums. He has also worked in films in other languages
