Mahindra Group readies first ventilator prototype for COVID aid in 48 hours

48-hours after Anand Mahindra, Mahindra Group Chairman said his conglomerate will work on manufacturing ventilators, the company's Igatpuri and Mumbai plants have come up with the first ventilator prototype.

The team said the current ventilator has been made after extensive research on the internet, and they will be working on three more prototypes based on expert directions.

48-hours after Anand Mahindra, Mahindra Group Chairman said his conglomerate will work on manufacturing ventilators, the company’s Igatpuri and Mumbai plants have come up with the first ventilator prototype.

Sharing a video of the team, Anand Mahindra said, the team dedicatedly worked for 48 hours and produced the device.

The team said the current ventilator has been made after extensive research on the internet, and they will be working on three more prototypes based on expert directions.

The ventilators to be used for the treatment of coronavirus positive patients are lighter and compact compared to traditional ventilators and most importantly cost less.

Anand Mahindra stated that these lifesaver devices which otherwise cost between ₹5-10 lakhs will cost below just ₹7,500 once made.

The Managing Director of the M&M group also revealed that they are working along with an existing ventilator manufacturer and two public sector undertakings to simplify the designs.
