In an effort to turn the tables on Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress leader of striking a “deal’ with industrialists Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani since he has stopped abusing them after the Lok Sabha elections were declared.

"What deal has been made?" asked PM Modi, addressing an election rally in Telangana.

"You must have seen the Shehzaada of Congress has been chanting the name of Ambani and Adani for the past five years,” Modi said, adding that once the elections were announced Rahul had stopped. Then, Modi went on to ask what money the ‘shehzada’ got from Ambani and Adani for the elections.

“How many bags of black money did he get from them? What deal did you crack with Ambani and Adani that you stopped abusing them overnight after attacking them for over five years. This means that you have trunks full of chori ka maal,” he said.

"There is something wrong. You will have to answer to people," PM Modi added.

Priyanka responds to jibe

Senior leaders from the Congress have been attacking the PM and BJP government for favouring the interests of wealthy industrialists and waiving off their loans but not taking care of the farmers and the marginalised sections of the society.

However, Priyanka Gandhi responding to PM's jibe at Rahul said that the Congress leader puts the truth about Adani-Ambani in front of people and tells about the nexus between industrialists and the BJP. "They waived ₹16 lakh crores for his friends, while in UP farmers are committing suicide but their loans are not waived off," she said.

On a whirlwind tour of Telangana and AP, PM Modi also hit out at the Congress and the BRS for giving Hyderabad on lease to Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM.

"If someone has challenged the AIMIM for the first time, it's BJP. More than AIMIM, it's Congress & BRS who are rattled by the challenge from the BJP. Both are helping AIMIM to win in Hyderabad," he added.
Also, he made a veiled dig at Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that there is a 'double R' tax "from Telangana to Delhi". According to Modi, while the film 'RRR' made a collection of ₹1,000 crore, this much money is just a few days collection of 'RR' tax," he pointed out.
