Sharing his vision to create a “new Kashmir”, the prime minister said it is time to get rid of the problems Kashmiris suffered for 40 years due to wrong policies of the previous governments.

He said all Indians are now determined to make Kashmir the paradise it was once and that Kashmiris want development and new job opportunities. “We have to hug each Kashmiri and create a new paradise there,” he said.

While expressing confidence about the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, he said the people of the state have made up their minds to vote those in power who work as per the expectation of the masses.

Congratulating Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his developmental works in the state, Modi said the people of Maharashtra were victims of political instability which had thwarted the state’s progress before the BJP came to power.

The first 100 days of the BJP government’s second term had “promise, performance and delivery”, Modi said, while adding that farmers too have benefitted in the last five years.

Stating that the government has been fulfilling all its promises, he said, “The Indian army had in 2009 sought over one lakh bullet-proof jackets but their demand was not fulfilled by the then Congress regime. But soon after coming to power, the NDA government started procuring the bullet-proof jackets.”

He added that India has now started manufacturing world-class bullet-proof jackets and is exporting the product to over 100 countries.
