82-yr-old doctor succumbs to COVID-19, family tests positive in Mumbai

An 82-year-old doctor in Mumbai, who was tested positive for the novel coronavirus, breathed his last on Thursday (March 26) night at the city’s Hinduja Hospital.


An 82-year-old doctor in Mumbai, who was tested positive for the novel coronavirus, breathed his last on Thursday (March 26) night at the city’s Hinduja Hospital.

The six-member family of the deceased was also tested positive for COVID-19.

According to civil officials, grandson of the deceased doctor had returned from England on March 12 and was under self-quarantine. The doctor had developed cough four days ago and underwent a CT scan at Saifee hospital. He was tested positive and shifted to Hinduja hospital.

Till now, there are 147 positive cases in Maharashtra, including 12 more people ((contacts of earlier positive cases) who were tested positive in Sangli, said PRO, Maharashtra Health Department.
