Death sentence for Telangana man who raped and killed 3 minors

A special investigation team was formed to investigate the case and Srinivas was arrested on April 2019.

A court in Telangana on Thursday (February 6) awarded death sentence to a man accused of rape, and murder of three minor girls at Hajipur village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.

The accused Marri Srinivas Reddy (29) was a lift mechanic. The incident came to light last year after two girls went missing and were found dead in agriculture well on the outskirts of her native Hazipur.

Taking advantage of the situation that the village had no bus facility, Srinivas offered to give the girls a lift and later, committed the crime. While two schoolgirls were raped and murdered in 2019, another was raped and murdered in 2015.

When the case came up for hearing, the accused denied the charges against him and stated that he had committed no crime but accepted it due to the torture of police. He also added that he was impotent. However, the police provided DNA tests to prove his involvement.

A special investigation team was formed to investigate the case and Srinivas was arrested on April 2019. Later, his house was set ablaze by the local villagers, claimed reports.
