Actor-turned-politician Kamal Hassan, who heads Tamil Nadu’s Makkal Needhi Maiam party, met his long-time colleague from Tamil movie industry, superstar Rajinikanth on Saturday.

This was the first time the two Tamil movie greats met since Rajinikanth announced a few weeks ago he would not be entering politics. The meeting also comes months ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

However, reports suggest quoting reliable sources that politics was not discussed during the meeting.

While Rajinikanth took an U-turn on his politics entry last year citing bad health, Kamal had launched his party – Makkal Needhi Maiam – in 2018 and contested the 2019 parliamentary elections. Recently, Kamal had said he would actively seek Rajinikanth’s support.
