Delhi violence: Kamal Haasan praises Rajinikanth for his remarks

Hours after actor Rajinikanth slammed the central government over the violence in the national capital, actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan on Wednesday (February 26) praised his counterpart for his comments.

Taking a cue from one of Rajini’s dialogues from the Tamil film Padayappa where he says, “En vazhi, thani vazhi (My way is my own),” Haasan in a tweet said, “Bravo friend! This path is a good one. It is not a separate one. An entire community is taking this royal path. Welcome, congratulations.”

Actor Rajinikanth on Wednesday said, “At a time when US President Donald Trump is visiting the country, they (Union Government) should have been more careful. It is definitely the central government’s intelligence failure. I strongly condemn the Centre for this. I hope they would be careful from now on,” he told reporters.

On many occasions, certain media and political observers have said that he was a supporter of the saffron party. Reacting to this, the actor said he simply states what is true. ”I’ve been called a BJP supporter, or that the BJP is the reason behind me saying this. But I am just saying what is true,” he added.
