Actor Vikram in Chennai hospital with 'chest discomfort'


Actor and playback singer Vikram was admitted to Chennai’s Kauvery hospital on Friday (July 8) after he complained of mild chest discomfort.

According to a statement by Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and executive director, Kauvery Hospital, Vikram was evaluated and treated by a team of specialist doctors at the hospital. “He did not have cardiac arrest, is currently clinically stable and will be discharged from the hospital soon,” the doctor said.

Vikram’s manager, Suryanarayana, took to Twitter, to clear doubts and misunderstandings about the actor’s health status.

Suryanarayana wrote: “Dear fans and well-wishers, Chiyaan Vikram had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He did not have a heart attack as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect.”

He further requested the actor’s fans to give privacy to the actor and his family. “Our dear Chiyaan is fine now.  He is likely to be discharged from hospital in a day. We hope this statement provides clarity and trust that the false rumours will be put to rest,” he added.
