PDP leader Parra paid ₹10 lakh to Hizbul via DySP Davinder, says NIA

The money was delivered at Srinagar airport in March 2019, and later it was hidden in a tiffin box, according to NIA.

Waheed Ur Rehman Parra recently won the District Development Council (DDC) elections from Pulwama.

A probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed Ur Rehman Parra allegedly paid money to Hizbul Mujahideen terror group, according to report.

On Wednesday (December 30), The Indian Express reported that Parra allegedly gave ₹10 lakh to the terror outfit. It quoted sources say saying that the money was allegedly delivered to Hizbul operative Syed Mushtaq Naveed alias Naveed Babu through DySP Davinder Singh.

Last month, ahead of the District Development Council (DDC) elections, Para was arrested by the NIA in connection with the probe involving suspended Davinder’s case. Davinder was arrested in January this year for helping Hizbul terrorists Naveen Babu, Rafi Ahmed Dar and Irfan Shahi Mir. Later, a chargesheet was filed in July.

“Mir and Parra have known each other for a long time. Mir told Para that ₹10 lakh was required for purchase of five AK-47 rifles for Hizbul. Para agreed but put a condition that Hizbul would not create any trouble ahead of the polls and that the outfit would take care of his workers in Pulwama. He also sought Hizbul’s support for the polls,” an NIA officer was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

The money was allegedly sent by Parra with a man, to be delivered to Davinder at Srinagar airport where he was posted. “(Davinder) Singh received the money (in March 2019) and asked one of his assistants to put the same in a tiffin box and keep it in his car. It was later delivered to Naveed Babu,” the officer added.

Its upto the judiciary now to dispense justice & ensure @parawahid is released at the earliest. (sic),” she had tweeted.

Parra won the recent DDC polls from Pulwama constituency, and is currently in jail.
