Army guns down terrorist during infiltration bid in Kashmir’s Tral

Security forces on Tuesday (June 2) gunned down a terrorist at Soyimouh village in Kashmir’s Tral while he was trying to infiltrate into the country, reports said.

This is the third encounter since Saturday. According to reports, Indian troops on May 28, detected six to seven terrorists attempting to infiltrate into the country at Naushera Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, close to the Line of Control (LoC). In a swift operation, they managed to kill three of the infiltrators, seriously injuring at least one, Nagrota Corps officials told ANI. The operation lasted for four days.

A large cache of weapons was also recovered including two AK 47 Rifles, a M16 A2 Rifle, a pistol, a UBGL as well as ammunition and grenades. Pakistan markings were found on eatables and other items. These indicate the complicity of Pakistan, Nagrota Corps said.

Pakistan on Monday violated ceasefire along LOC and carried out heavy shelling in Mankot sector of Poonch district.
