Delhi metro to resume from September 7 'in a calibrated manner'

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Saturday (August 29) announced it will resume its services from September 7 in a calibrated manner, following the Centre's go-ahead for a graded resumption of metro railway services across the country.

“As per the latest guidelines, Delhi Metro will be resuming its services for public from 7 September 2020 onwards in a calibrated manner. Details on the Metro functioning & its usage will be shared once the detailed SOP on Metros is issued by MoHUA,” tweeted the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation from its official handle.

Besides, services of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro rail will also resume from September 7, officials said Saturday. “Aqua Line services will resume as per norms issued by the central government,” Ritu Maheshwari, Managing Director of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation told news agency PTI.

The announcement came minutes after the Union ministry of home affairs issued its latest Unlock 4 guidelines allowing the metro rail to be operated from September 7.

“I am glad that metro has been permitted to start its operations from 7 Sep in a phased manner,” tweeted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following the Centre’s announcement.
