Prashant Kishor announces 3,000 km padyatra in Bihar; attacks Lalu, Nitish
Political strategist Prashant Kishor on Thursday (May 5) attacked the 30-year rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar in Bihar and announced a 3,000 km padyatra (march) to reach out to people and cover the entire state, from October 2.
Last month, Kishor declined the Congress’ offer to join the party. And there were speculations that he would launch his own political party. However, on Thursday, he confirmed that he won’t be floating any party.

Addressing a press conference, Kishor said in the last 30 years Lalu and Nitish have ruled Bihar and today the state is India’s “most backward and most poor” state. If you want to develop Bihar, the state can’t go on the same path which it had gone for the past 20 years, he added.
Further, he stated, “I will start a 3,000 km padyatra (march) from West Champaran Gandhi Ashram on October 2 with the aim to cover most of Bihar… We will reach out to people at their offices, knock on their doors to understand them, their issues and expectations.”

He added, “I am going to talk to around 17,000-18,000 people, who are aware of the problems in Bihar, and try to bring them on a single platform. We should be able to complete the process by August-September.”
On launching his own party, he said, “If they think that a political platform needs to be launched to achieve the desired goals, we will decide on the same then. However, it won’t be Prashant Kishor’s party, it will be the people’s party.”
On Monday, Kishor had tweeted about going to “real masters” and had announced the “Peoples Good Governance” campaign.

As I turn the page, time to go to the Real Masters, THE PEOPLE, to better understand the issues & the path to Peoples Good Governance, will start from Bihar,” he had tweeted on May 2.
