However, as per earlier orders, schools in the state will remain closed till April 15 in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
According to Hindustan Times, the teachers have been summoned on Saturday and Sunday to make arrangements for the distribution of mid-day meal so that it can begin from Monday onwards.
In a notice issued on March 20, the district inspector of schools in Malda district requested schools and madrasahs to keep open on Saturday and Sunday towards “procurement and preparatory works.”
Each student will be given 2 kg rice and potato per month, the report said quoting an official, adding that it will be handed over to their guardians. They clarified students don’t need to come to schools during this period.
