Jharkhand to revive old pension scheme and hike MLA fund: CM

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday promised to revive the old pension scheme and increase the MLA fund.

“We are going to implement the old pension scheme in the state very soon,” Soren said before the month-long budget session of the assembly was adjourned sine die.

The MLA fund will be increased from 4 crore to 5 crore, he said.

The session, which started on February 25, had a total of 17 working days.

The National Movement for Old Pension Scheme, an umbrella body of more than 14 lakh central and state government employees, had recently urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to consider modifications in the NPS.
