In Uttarakhand, Sanskrit to replace Urdu on railway signboards

Dehradun: Uttarakhand has decided to replace the names of its railway stations in Urdu with Sanskrit, the second official language of the hill state. An official said the move is in line with the Railway Manual which says the name of a railway station on platform signboards should be written in the second official language of the state concerned after Hindi and English.
