It’s nothing for the fans and the players to see ‘Rain Stops Play’ on the LED screen in stadiums. However, in a bizzare incident the start of Ranji Trophy match between Vidarbha and Andhra Pradesh was delayed due to a snake making its presence on the ground.

Fans in Vijayawada on Monday (December 9) witnessed the match starting later than scheduled after Vidarbha captain Faiz Fazal won the toss and elected to field with a sign ‘Snake Stops Play’.

The snake invasion took place when the players were making their way to the middle.

“SNAKE STOPS PLAY! There was a visitor on the field to delay the start of the match,” BCCI Domestic tweeted a 13-second video.

The official Twitter handle of BCCI Domestic posted a video in which the snake can be seen gliding on the field while seven to eight groundsmen trying to ensure that it slithers away.
