Former President Pranab Mukherjee is still in deep coma and his renal parameters are “slightly deranged”, the hospital treating him in Delhi said on Wednesday (August 26).

Doctors say that 84-year-old Mukherjee continues to be on ventilator support.

Mukherjee was admitted to the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on August 10 after he had a fall in the bathroom and developed a clot in the brain. The clot was removed by surgery but then he developed a lung infection. He was tested positive for COVID-19 at the time of admission.

“Shri Pranab Mukherjee is being treated for lung infection. His renal parameters are slightly deranged since yesterday. He continues to be in deep coma and on ventilator support,” a statement from the hospital said.
