The postmortem report of murdered Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari revealed that he was stabbed 15 times and shot once in his head. Two deep cut marks were found on his neck and the stabbing was centered between the jaw and the chest. The wounds were inflicted within 10 centimeters of one another, the report said.
A bullet was found on the backside of Tiwari’s skull during postmortem.
Earlier on Tuesday (October 22), two main accused in the murder case – Ashfaq Hussain Jakirhussain Shaikh (34) and Moinuddin Khurshid Pathan (27) – were arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from the Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
The accused had absconded after the gruesome murder of Tiwari.
Meanwhile, two persons were taken into custody yesterday by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, over suspicion of having provided aid to the main accused Ashfaq and Moinuddin Pathan.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrest of two men who were involved in allegedly killing Kamlesh Tiwari, the family members of the slain Hindu outfit leader on Wednesday (October 23) demanded capital punishment for the killers.
“I am very happy with the arrest of the killers. Now they should be hanged (for their crime),” Kusum Tiwari, mother of Kamlesh Tiwari told reporters.
I am satisfied with the government action, she added.
Expressing similar views, Tiwari’s son Satyam thanked the Gujarat ATS and the Uttar Pradesh government for standing by the family.
“Now they should be hanged once they are identified,” he said.
