Jodie Comer world’s prettiest woman, Deepika Padukone 9th: Scientist using Phi technique

You don’t need a magical mirror to find the prettiest face on earth for simple mathematics does the job.

A scientist has named English actor Jodie Comer the world’s most beautiful woman using a computerised mapping strategy to apply the ancient Greek technique of The Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi or Phi.

Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, singer Beyonce and television personality Kim Kardashian have also found place in the Top 10 list of beautiful women.

What is Phi?

In plain words, Phi measures the symmetry of a person’s face to determine his/her beauty.

While the Golden Ratio is a mathematical ratio of 1.618:1, the 1.618 part of it is called Phi. Under the Golden Ratio, the length of a person’s face is divided by the width. For a woman to be called beautiful under the Golden Ratio, the result should be close to 1.6.

Besides this, the three sections of the face – from the hairline to a spot between the eyes, from between the eyes to the bottom of the nose, and from the bottom of the nose to the bottom of the chin – should be equal to be called beautiful.

‘Jodie Comer has close to perfect symmetry’

Dr Silva said during computerized mapping Jodie Comer’s facial features were found to be 98.7 per cent symmetrical.

“Jodie Comer was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection. She had the highest overall reading for the positioning of her nose and lips, with a score of 98.7 per cent, which is only 1.3 per cent away from being the perfect shape. Jodie also has the highest score for her nose width and length and she was near the top for the shape of her lips and the position of her eyes,” Dr Silva told Yahoo Life UK.

The second and third spots were bagged by actor Zendaya (94.37 per cent) and model Bella Hadid (94.35 per cent). They were followed by Beyonce (92.44 per cent), Ariana Grande (91.81 per cent), Taylor Swift (91.64 per cent), Jourdan Dunn (91.39 per cent), Kim Kardashian (91.28 per cent), Deepika Padukone (91.22 per cent) and HoYeon Jung (89.63 per cent).
