‘Important’: BJP wants all Rajya Sabha MPs present on Tuesday

A letter by the party said some very important legislative work will be discussed and passed on Feb 11

Rajya Sabha
The House will reassemble on March 11 after Holi.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a three-line whip to all its MPs of Rajya Sabha, asking for their mandatory presence in the House on Tuesday (February 10). Reports suggest the party asked them to be present in the House and “support the stand of the government”.

“All BJP MPs of Rajya Sabha are informed that some very important Legislative work will be brought to the House on Tuesday, 11th February 2020, to be discussed and to be passed,” said a letter by the party.

This coincides with the assembly election results in the national capitals, where the exit polls have predicted an overwhelming victory of the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), projecting a distant second rank for the BJP.
