Earth Day 2022: Survey shows Indians keen on buying, promoting sustainable products


The theme of Earth Day this year is ‘Invest in our planet’ and the consumers of India are willing to provide its green entrepreneurs just the right platform to bring sustainable products in vogue, says an American Express Trendex report.

The study says India is ahead of all other nations, keen to leave a positive impact on the planet by prioritizing spending on sustainable products and contributing to local businesses.

Manoj Adlakha, CEO of American Express Banking Corp India, said, “Indian customers are making conscious decisions and shifting their buying patterns by prioritizing spending on sustainable products thereby contributing to local businesses and leaving a positive impact on the planet.”

Adlakha said the pandemic has made people increasingly mindful about the purchases they make and the impact that will create for generations to come.
