Caught on camera: BJP's Sonali Phogat thrashes official with slippers

Internet-star-turned-politician Sonali Phogat was on Friday (June 5) caught on camera while thrashing a senior official of a Haryana farmers’ market committee for alleged misbehavior.

In the viral video, Phogat who can be seen inspecting the farmers’ market can be seen slapping and thrashing officer Sultan Singh for allegedly calling her dramabaaz (drama queen).

Unsuccessful BJP candidate from the 2019 Haryana assembly elections, Phogat went with a list of farmers’ complaints to the officer. Following his alleged remarks and Phogat’s thrashing, the officer could be seen pleading in the video, making note of her complaints and giving his assurance.

Phogat later called the police but refused to press charges soon after the officer apologised.

The BJP candidate who became popular via Tik Tok took the headlines last year when she filed a complaint against her sister and brother-in-law for allegedly assaulting her.
