Apple AirPods to soon warn users about their surroundings

Tech giant Apple has been granted a patent that deals with a user’s safety while donning Apple’s AirPods. The safety feature proposed by the patent will work towards making an AirPod more user friendly, by making the user aware of his/her surroundings while using the device.

The feature will study the user’s situation and lower or pause the volume of the audio being played on the Bluetooth earphones. The user’s mind will thus snap out of the audio and onto his/her surroundings.

The GPS data from a user’s Apple iPhone or iWatch, will be combined with the sensors present on the AirPods to operate the feature. The AirPods will then collect the user’s data, his/her location, speed and whether they are wearing both AirPods or just one. This will then trigger the safety feature.
