Four Congress workers in Andhra Pradesh have been arrested after black balloons were seen near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s helicopter soon after it took off from Vijayawada’s Gannavaram airport on Monday (July 4).

Although visuals showed the balloons flying close to the PM’s chopper, police said they were at least 4.5 km apart and five minutes after he left, and dismissed claims of security breach.

According to reports, some Congress leaders protesting at the airport were holding black balloons and placards and shouting slogans.

Two Congress members reportedly climbed an under-construction building  and released the balloons five minutes after PM Modi’s chopper took off.

While one of them was taken into custody another is missing. Two others also have been taken into custody.
