In the time of lockdowns and curfews, a little humour is always welcome. And even more when it comes from someone who has faced it himself.

In one such attempt, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah, who has been quite active on social media after his release on Tuesday (March 24) following an eight-month-long detention, put up a meme to help people battle out the “serious and scary times”.

The meme featuring photograph of a worried Omar, read “When you spend 236 days in lockdown, and on the day you get out, the government imposes a 21-day lockdown:”

It doesn’t end here. The National Conference leader through tweets has extended his support to authorities to help in the fight against COVID-19, also offering citizens his survival tactics to weather the 21-day lockdown.

“We face the fight of our lives over the next few weeks & months as we come to terms & work to defeat #COVIDー19. I will do everything in my individual capacity to help the authorities overcome this challenge & I appeal to all of you to do the same,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

“On a lighter note if anyone wants tips on surviving quarantine or a lock down I have months of experience at my disposal, perhaps a blog is in order,” he said in another tweet.

Omar, who was detained under the Public Security Act since August 2019, when the Centre abrogated Article 370, was released on Tuesday (March 25) after his detention was revoked.
