Brazil drops visa requirement for Indian tourists, businesspeople

Brazil’s far-right President Jair Bolsonaro on Thursday (October 25) announced that Indian and Chinese tourists or businesspeople will no more be required to obtain visas for visiting the South American nation.

According to a Reuters report, Bolsonaro, who ascended to power at the beginning of the year, has made it a policy to reduce visa requirements from several of developed countries. He made this announcement during his visit to China, where he expanded the policy to the developing nation as well.

The government of the South American nation had earlier this year ended visa requirements for tourists and businesspeople from several developed nations, including the US, Australiam, Canada and Japan, the report said.
