14-yr-old sustains bullet injury in Delhi, ambulances turned away


No ambulance reached Kardam Puri area in Shahdara in Northeast Delhi for six hours, even as a 14-year-old boy was allegedly sustaining bullet injury.

Bystanders told The Wire that the boy, named Faizan, was shot around 11 am on Tuesday. But he did not receive even the first aid, they added.

So much the worse that the ambulances that came to the boy’s help were allegedly sent back by the police, a bystander told The Wire.

The boy has been living with his grandmother, while his father works in Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. The boy’s mother had passed away recently, reported The Wire.

The incident happened as Northeast Delhi has been witnessing violence for the last two days allegedly over the anti-CAA protests in the national capital.

At least 11 people have been killed and over 130 injured in the violence that also left several shops afire in the region.
