14 men deported from UAE on terror charges flown to TN by NIA
Fourteen people, deported from the United Arab Emirates on charges of supporting terror outfits were arrested by sleuths of National Investigation Agency, and flown to Chennai on Monday (July 15).
The arrested men were produced before a special court in Poonamalee. Judge P Chenthoorpandi remanded them in judicial custody till July 25.
The 14 were detained by UAE authorities after they were caught raising funds to wage a war against India. They were reportedly deported from UAE in two batches.
The recent NIA raids in Tamil Nadu were conducted based on the information given by the 14 arrested men.
