Trump takes a dig at Kamala Harris, says he 'has more Indians than her'

US President Donald Trump on Friday (August 15) attacked Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, saying "no one will be safe in Biden's America", and added that the California Senator is a "step worse".

US President Donald Trump on Friday (August 15) attacked Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, saying “no one will be safe in Biden’s America”, and added that the California Senator is a “step worse”.

“If Joe Biden would become the President, he will immediately pass legislation to gut every single police department in American and probably Kamala (Harris) is a step worse. She is of Indian heritage. I have more Indians than she has,” NDTV quoted Trump as saying while speaking to members of the City of New York Police Benevolent Association.

“This guy has been taking your dignity away and your respect… No one will be safe in Biden’s America,” Trump said. “And I’m telling you on November 3 you”re going to be getting it back,” he added.

Trump also hit out at Harris in his speech, claiming she was being hostile to the police, and alleged that she and Joe Biden were at the centre of “a left-wing war on cops”.

He further said he has not been blunt with Harris and did not see her as a threat in this presidential election.

“No, I haven’t been blunt. I said she treated Joe Biden worse than anybody else. I watch those debates. They were very boring but they were debates nevertheless. I watched pretty good parts of them,” Trump told reporters at a White House news conference on Friday.

“She treated Biden worse than anybody else by far. There was nobody, including Pocahontas, nobody treated Biden so badly as Kamala,” he said.

“As you know, none whatsoever. No, not at all,” Trump said when asked if he saw Harris as a threat in this election.

Trump was responding to a series of questions on Harris.

When asked if he has an issue with a strong woman of colour being in this presidential race, Trump said, “None whatsoever.”
