Father, brothers of Lanka bombings mastermind killed in shootout
The father and two brothers of Zahran Hashim, the suspected mastermind behind the Easter bombings in Sri Lanka, were killed in a police raid on safe houses two days ago, Reuters reported on Sunday (April 28).
Hashim’s father Mohammed Hashim and brothers Zainee Hashim and Rilwan Hashim, were among the 15 killed in an encounter with the military.
The trio were earlier seen in a video circulating on social media wherein they talk about martyrdom and call out for a war against non-believers. Niyaz Sharif, the brother-in-law of Zahran Hashim, told Reuters that the video showed Zahran’s two brothers and father.
