Rahul dares PM Modi to debate three topics with him

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has thrown open a new front of debate, saying he ‘is making it easier for the government.’ Contending that the PM is scared to debate, he dared the latter to take him on three topics, namely, Rafale, Nirav Modi, and Demonetisation.

“Dear PM, Scared of debating me on corruption? I can make it easier for you. Let’s go open book, so you can prepare: 1. Rafale + Anil Ambani 2. Nirav Modi 3. Amit Shah + Demonetisation (sic),” Rahul Gandhi tweeted today (April 9) as PM Modi addressed a rally at Maharashtra’s Latur, where he attacked the Congress’s manifesto. The PM had stated that the manifesto is ‘a document that speaks the same language as Pakistan’s.

Taking a dig at the PM’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, he said the Congress government would create local jobs in states to stop the migration of people to other cities. “I want people to get employment in Gaya. We will make in Gaya, we will make UP… we will create jobs in the states you belong to,” Gandhi said this while addressing a public rally in Gaya, Bihar.

Reiterating his jibe of ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ (the watchman is the thief) directed at PM Modi, Gandhi said the Prime Minister had promised to make Gaya a tourism hub and give Bihar a special status, but instead has given the state the special status in unemployment. “Despite the PM’s Make in India programme, unemployment is at its high in 45 years. Demonetisation finished the business of small businessmen. When you were standing in queues to change your notes, did you find people with black money there?” Rahul said, adding that it was the common man and not black money hoarders who bore the brunt of demonetisation in 2016.

“Whenever we have tried giving money to the poor, Modiji has asked where the money will come from. I will tell you where it will come from. It will come from Anil Ambani’s pocket, it will come from the chowkidar’s pocket,” Gandhi said.
