The Congress president Rahul Gandhi asserted that the two main issues that the nation is confronted with are jobs and farmers.

Talking to reporters after filing his nomination in Wayanad, he said, “The two main issues in the country today are jobs and farmers. Farmers don’t know what is in store for them.” He further said, “Youngsters are running from state to state for jobs. Narendra Modi has failed on jobs.

Earlier, he was accompanied by his sister and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to the returning officer’s office. A road show too was held, attended by scores of Congress’ supporters.

The seat is all set to have a triangular contest with Thushar Vellapally of the NDA, P P Suneer and Rahul Gandhi of the Congress.

Wayanad is scheduled to go to polls in the third phase on April 23.
