CBSE to announce dates of remaining class 10,12 board exams on May 18


The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the dates for the remaining exams of class 10 and 12 board exams on May 18, 2020. The board exams were called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now they will be held in the first half of July.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal posted on Twitter saying that the date sheet for the CBSE board exams will be released by May 18. Previously, CBSE had announced that the pending board exams for class 10 and class 12 will be conducted in 29 main subjects. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, board exams were not conducted for eight days. Earlier today (May 16), the minister had announced that the date sheet will be released by 5 pm.

However, CBSE class 10 board exams will only be conducted for the students of North-East Delhi. Exams were called off in this region due to the breakout of communal riots in the month of February 2020. CBSE class 12 board exams were called off in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All CBSE-affiliated schools have also been directed to conduct retests/re-examinations for the students who have failed in class 9 and class 11.

Additionally, for the evaluation of CBSE board naswer sheets this year, the papers are being sent to evaluator’s homes due to the ongoing pandemic. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has also been conducting online webinars for teachers and students.
