The evaluation for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 10, 12 board exams will be done by teachers at their homes and around 3,000 schools have been identified as the exam centres to deliver the answer sheets to them.

Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on May 9 that the move comes after an approval from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to restart the evaluation work by delivering the answer sheets to the evaluator’s homes from the exam centres.

However, the transportation of the answer sheets will be allowed in areas other than the COVID-19 containment zones. The HRD Minister said that 1.5 crore answer sheets of the already conducted Class 10, 12 exams will be delivered to the teachers. For this, 3,000 CBSE-affiliated schools have been identified as the assessment centres across the country and special permission will be given only to these schools for the limited task of evaluation.

He added that around 1.5 crore answer sheets will be delivered to evaluators and the evaluation will begin tomorrow (May 10). They will be able to complete the process in a period of 50 days. According to the MHA guidelines, all the 16 regional offices of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) can operate without restrictions in the orange and green zones and with limited restrictions in the red zones.
