BJP slams DK Shivakumar for throwing half-bitten apples at crowd
At a felicitation ceremony, Karnataka CM bit two apples and threw them at the party workers one after another and left the venue
Bengaluru, Jun 9 (PTI) The BJP on Tuesday came down heavily on Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar for throwing half-bitten apples at his fans during his felicitation ceremony in his hometown Kanakapura in Bengaluru South district.
The party alleged that this behaviour showed the Congress mindset.
According to sources, the Congress workers had arranged a grand felicitation in Kanakapura on Sunday, where a massive garland made of apples was offered to him. The garland was lifted using a crane.
After the felicitation, Shivakumar bit two apples and threw them at the party workers one after another and left the venue.
The video of the incident has gone viral.
The BJP criticised the chief minister for his action.
The party posted the video on ‘X’ and wrote in Hindi, which translates, "Throwing half-bitten apple at the very public whose votes bring you to power is no joke—it's a mirror to the Congress mindset." The party further said, "Respect isn't shown through words, but through behaviour. The public doesn't beg for charity; it demands respect. And when arrogance takes the place of respect, the public responds in kind." There was no immediate reaction from the Congress or the Chief Minister's office over the issue. PTI
