Your WhatsApp groups can now have 512 members

Your WhatsApp groups can now be bigger.

WhatsApp Groups will now be able to accommodate 512 members, up from the earlier limit of 256.

WhatsApp announced this feature back in May along with other features. These features were then rolled out to the app’s Beta users for testing.

This will help WhatsApp meet its rival apps like Telegram which allow 2,00,000 users in a single group. The update will also enable businesses, colleges, schools and other organisations to add more members to their WhatsApp groups.

Users can update their WhatsApp app on Android and iOS App stores to make sure they get the new update. One can test the feature by creating a new WhatsApp group and checking the number of people they can add to the same.

WhatsApp is constantly coming up with new features for its users. They have been testing a feature which allows one to edit their messages on the app. The feature, which will soon be made available to Beta users, will enable a user to edit his/her messages for any spelling errors or wrong inputs. Another feature which allows users to discreetly exit groups is also under development.
