Maruti Suzuki's new Brezza to launch tomorrow: All you need to know


Maruti Suzuki India is set to launch its new version of the compact SUV Vitara Brezza on Thursday (June 30).

“Get ready for city adventures with advanced and exciting technology of Hot & Techy Brezza. Comes with 1.5L Advanced K-Series Dual Jet Petrol Engine & Progressive Smart Hybrid Tech,” the company said on its website without revealing much.

The bookings for the new Brezza had opened recently. There are likely to be four variants of new Brezza – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+.

New Brezza’s features

The new Brezza will come with features such as electric sunroof along with an array of sophisticated new-age tech, comfort, convenience and connected features, the company said in a statement.

It will also have a next generation powertrain with 6-speed automatic transmission option, it added.

Customers can pre-book the new Brezza with an initial payment of ₹11,000 at any of the company’s Arena showroom or from its website, it said.

The new Brezza will have a “head up display, 360 view camera, Smartplay Pro+”, according to the company. “Get ready to explore a new perspective with a 360 View Camera. Parking in tight spaces will now be a breeze in the All New Hot And Techy Brezza. Keep your eyes on the road while having all the information you need in one place with Head Up Display in the All New Hot And Techy Brezza,” it said.

Under the hood of the new-gen Brezza will be the same new 1.5-litre four-cylinder NA petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech that performs duties on the 2022 Eritga and XL6. The engine puts out 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque, and will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, as well as an optional 6-speed torque converter AT, a Times of India report said.

It will come equipped with a nine-inch floating SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with connected-car tech and Surround Sense premium sound system by Arkamys. The car will also feature a new flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters (AT only), as well as a redesigned instrument cluster with a TFT multi-info display in the middle, it added.

It will be 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,685mm in height. The wheelbase will be 2,500mm, according to reports.

7.5 lakh units sold in 6 years

Since its launch in 2016, Brezza started a new trend of compact SUVs in the country, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Shrivastava said.

“With over 7.5 lakh units sold in just 6 years, Brezza commands a strong market share in the compact SUV segment in the country. Today we are happy to share that we will be introducing the most-awaited compact SUV in an all-new avatar,” he added.

Matching the changing aspirations of young Indians, who want a vehicle that reflects their personalities, the new Brezza is a stylishly tech-enabled compact SUV that will surpass the expectations of customers, Shrivastava said.

MSIL Chief Technical Officer (Engineering) CV Raman said the new Brezza comes with an enhanced design, performance, technology and safety features.
